Split-Layout Leverless Controllers: S15, M5 and J2A

Before Comparing S15, M5, and the J2A B Layout
In this guide, a "separated layout" means space between the directional-button group and the action-button group. It does not mean the enclosure splits into left and right halves, folds, or can be detached into two pieces. Before ordering, check the button positions and the enclosure construction separately in the photos and product description.
Actuation point is also the press travel before a switch registers. It is not a measure of end-to-end latency to the game system or in-game response time.
Choose by Button Position
S15: for checking a separated layout

S15 places the directional-button group apart from the action-button group. Its nominal size is 300 × 200 × 12 mm and its weight is approximately 860 g. N/H is a button-and-key-switch choice separate from Platform, so select the PC or PS5 version for the intended system and then compare the nominal key feel below.

| Choice | Button / key switch | Actuation point | Total travel | Actuation force |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S15B-N | Standard nylon / Kailh Choc V1 LowProfile Red | 1.5mm±0.5mm | 3.0mm±0.5mm | 50±10gf |
| S15B-H | Premium nylon keycap / Panda V1 | 1.2mm±0.3mm | 2.8mm±0.25mm | 30±10gf |
The listed items are a USB cable, spare key switches and keycaps, anti-slip pads, a hex wrench, and a user manual. Use dimensions and weight for placement or storage, and use N/H figures for physical key feel; do not use them to compare end-to-end latency.
Check Platform, N/H, and the manual link on the S15 product page
M5 and M5Pro: compare photos with the selected version

When considering M5, use the images to examine button positions, then check the selected version's specifications, Platform, and included items on the M5 product page. Compare button positions, case dimensions, and Platform with S15 in the same order to make a practical choice.

J2A B Layout: compare size and button position

The J2A B-layout name alone cannot determine whether it suits you. Compare the selected version's dimensions, button positions, options, and description on the J2A product page, then decide whether its reach suits desk or lap use.

Checklist Before Ordering
- Meaning of separated layout: it describes the gap between button groups, not a controller that can be split into two pieces.
- Platform: compare the PC or PS5 version with the game you play and any required authentication conditions.
- Switch: actuation point, total travel, and force help compare key feel. They do not state end-to-end latency, health effects, or match outcomes.
- Comparison table: Use the S15 nominal figures above as a reference, then check button positions, case dimensions, Platform, and included items in the same order for M5/M5Pro/J2A B.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does "separated" mean the controller can be split apart?
No. In this guide it describes spacing between the directional-button group and the action-button group. It does not mean detachable construction.
Are S15 N/H and Platform the same choice?
No. N/H identifies the buttons and key switches; Platform selects the connection version. S15B-N uses standard nylon and Kailh Choc V1 LowProfile Red, while S15B-H uses premium nylon keycaps and Panda V1. Select Platform separately.
Which model is best for me?
There is no single best model for everyone. Compare your Platform, game, hand placement, preferred size, and button positions in the current leverless controller collection.
