FAQ

You can view frequently asked questions and their answers regarding our controllers.

When using with Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2, set the “Input Setting” to “Nintendo Switch.” Switch 2 also operates in Nintendo Switch mode.

All TIKITAKA products can be used with this setting alone.

When using on PS5, you will need either the PS5 version of the device or a PS5 authentication device connected to the EX port.
Once these conditions are met, set the Input Mode to PS5 to enable use on PS5. (For the PS5 version, the Input Mode is preset to PS5 at shipment, so no adjustment is required.)

With TIKITAKA’s default firmware, PS5 settings are already configured.
However, if the device has been reset or settings have been changed, please set both “Input Mode Setting” and “Peripheral Mapping” as shown in the images below. This configuration also works for PS4.

  • For PlayStation 4 compatibility, you need to use PS4 Mode or the PS Passthrough add-on.
  • For PlayStation 5 compatibility, you need to disable the PS4 Mode add-on, enable the PS Passthrough add-on, and also select PS4 as the input mode in the settings section, choosing whether the device should function as a controller or as a fight stick. (TIKITAKA's PS5 version devices come with this setting pre-configured at the factory, so no additional setup is required.)
  • PS4 Mode is an add-on that makes GP2040-CE compatible with the PlayStation 4 console. It was built using another open-source firmware project called Passing Link.
  • The Passing Link team is not affiliated with the GP2040-CE project in any way, but their work and the information they provided are highly appreciated, and it has allowed us to offer this feature in response to user requests.
  • PS Passthrough is an add-on that makes GP2040-CE compatible with PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 consoles by using another controller or dongle to respond to authentication.
  • Depending on the controller or dongle used, compatibility may be limited to only PlayStation 4 support.

  • The 8-minute timeout works like this:

    1. Connect the controller to the PS4/5.
    2. Press the PS button to initialize the controller.
    3. Play for about 8 minutes.
    4. The console rejects the controller due to authentication failure.
    5. The user unplugs the non-functioning controller.
    6. Return to step 1 and repeat.
  • With the GP2040-CE firmware, you can upload the necessary files to authenticate the device. This allows the device to be authenticated via the PS4 Mode add-on, effectively eliminating the timeout issue.I
  • f you are using an OLED display, the input mode may change from PS4 to PS4:AS, indicating that the device has successfully authenticated with the PS4/PS5 console.

TIKITAKA does not provide any files related to obtaining these keys and files.

  • The product is plug-and-play and is pre-configured at the factory according to the version ordered.
(If you purchased the PS5 version, it defaults to PS5 mode; if you purchased the standard version, it defaults to PC mode.)
  • Test your device on this site: https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad
    It's easier than testing in-game!
  • It is because of the laminated matte top panel.
  • Prepare a properly sized clear tape or screen protector and apply it to the panel where the screen is located.

It depends on the platform you are playing on:
- For PC games and compatibility with third-party console adapters, use XInput mode as your preferred mode.
- For PS4, use PS4 mode; for PS4 games running on a PS5 system, also use PS4 mode.
- For PS3, use PS3 mode; for PS4 games that support legacy controllers, also use PS3 mode.
- For Nintendo Switch, use Switch mode.
- For MAME cabinets, PC rhythm games, etc., use Keyboard mode.

Use the following combination keys to configure the lighting:
- SELECT + START + X: Next animation
- SELECT + START + A: Previous animation
- SELECT + START + Y: Increase brightness
- SELECT + START + B: Decrease brightness
- SELECT + START + RB: Increase LED parameter
- SELECT + START + RT: Decrease LED parameter
- SELECT + START + LB: Increase pressed parameter

  • Download the app called "LED LAMP" from your mobile app store.
  • Turn on the device, open the app, and use the wireless connection method.
(The app will automatically recognize your device.)
  • The EXT. port is used for expansion functions.
  • Do not connect to a game console through this port.
  • For expansion functions,
  • Insert official or third-party adapters or controllers to enhance the product's platform compatibility and features.

This is an embedded web-based configuration application. You can adjust shortcut settings, pin mappings for all buttons, boot screens, etc., to create a unique arcade controller.

Before connecting to a PC, press and hold the "Start" button, then connect.
(If your device has a screen, configuration mode will be displayed.)

Note: 192.168.7.1 is a local configuration screen that can only be accessed when your TIKITAKA FTG product is connected to a PC via USB in configuration mode. It is not a standard internet site or router management page.

Next, open your web browser and go to http://192.168.7.1 to start configuring.
Do not click on "Danger Zone" or "Get Latest Version". These will not help you use the product, may introduce bugs, or could even render your product unusable!

You can manage and change your device settings directly in your PC browser (Chrome is recommended).

First, connect the device to your PC while holding down the button assigned to START.

After connecting, enter “192.168.7.1” in your browser’s address bar to access the device’s Web Config screen.

Current Input Mode: Allows you to switch which platform the device operates on. Select “Xinput” when using it on a PC.

D-pad Mode: Always set this to “D-pad.” If the movement keys do not respond, it is usually because this setting is not set to “D-pad.”

SOCD Cleaning Mode: Configures how inputs are handled when pressing left + right or up + down simultaneously. For Street Fighter 6, the default is “Neutral”, and in tournaments, using anything other than “Neutral” is prohibited. Please set it according to the rules of the game you are playing.

This page lets you configure which platform the device runs on depending on which button you hold down while connecting. If you mainly use the device on only one platform and don’t need to switch input modes, we recommend turning all shortcuts OFF to prevent unintended operations.

This page configures shortcuts that trigger when pressing certain button combinations while the device is connected. If you don’t plan to use shortcuts, set them all to “No Action” to avoid accidental operations.

This page allows you to reassign buttons. Click “GPIO PIN Viewer,” then press the button on your device that you want to change — the corresponding PIN number will be displayed. Edit the displayed number to reassign the input.
Finally, press “Save” to apply the settings. Don’t forget to save your changes.
