Frequently asked questions and answers
You can view frequently asked questions and answers about our controllers.
When using with Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2, set the “Input Setting” to “Nintendo Switch.” Switch 2 also operates in Nintendo Switch mode.
All TIKITAKA products can be used with this setting alone.

When using on PS5, you will need either the PS5 version of the device or a PS5 authentication device connected to the EX port.
Once these conditions are met, set the Input Mode to PS5 to enable use on PS5. (For the PS5 version, the Input Mode is preset to PS5 at shipment, so no adjustment is required.)
With TIKITAKA’s default firmware, PS5 settings are already configured.
However, if the device has been reset or settings have been changed, please set both “Input Mode Setting” and “Peripheral Mapping” as shown in the images below. This configuration also works for PS4.

- For Playstation 4 compatibility, you need to use PS4 mode or the PS Passthrough add-on.
- For Playstation 5 compatibility, you need to disable the PS4 mode add-on and enable the PS Passthrough add-on. You also need to select PS4 as the input mode in the settings section and choose whether the device functions as a controller or as a fight stick. (TIKITAKA PS5 version devices are configured this way at the factory, so no separate setup is required.)
- PS4 mode is an add-on that makes GP2040-CE compatible with Playstation 4 consoles. It was built using another open-source firmware project called Passing Link.
- The Passing Link team is not affiliated with the GP2040-CE project in any way, but the work and information they provided are greatly appreciated and made it possible to provide this feature in response to user requests.
- PS Passthrough is an add-on that makes GP2040-CE compatible with Playstation 4 or Playstation 5 consoles by using another controller or dongle to respond to authentication.
- Depending on the controller or dongle used, support may be limited to Playstation 4 only.
- For details, see PS Passthrough in the web configurator.
- Add-ons section of the documentation.
- PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 use an authentication mechanism to ensure that only approved controllers are used on the console. If the device does not implement this authentication mechanism, the controller will be subject to an 8-minute timeout.
- Using PS4 mode on PC will not cause a timeout, but we recommend using XInput mode for the best compatibility on PC.
- The 8-minute timeout works as follows:
- Connect the controller to the PS4/5.
- Press the PS button to initialize the controller.
- Play for about 8 minutes.
- Because authentication fails, the console rejects the controller.
- The user unplugs the non-functioning controller.
- Return to step 1 and repeat.
- GP2040-CE firmware lets you upload the files required to authenticate the device. This allows the device to be authenticated through the PS4 Mode add-on, effectively eliminating timeout issues.
- If you are using an OLED display, the input mode may change from PS4 to PS4:AS. This indicates that the device has successfully authenticated with the PS4/PS5 console.
TIKITAKA does not provide files related to obtaining these keys and files.
- The product is plug-and-play and is factory configured according to the version ordered.
(If you purchased the PS5 version, it defaults to PS5 mode; if you purchased the standard version, it defaults to PC mode.)
- Test your device on this site: https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad
It's easier than testing in-game!
- This is due to the layered matte top panel.
- Prepare clear tape or a screen protector of the appropriate size, and apply it to the panel where the screen is located.
This depends on the platform you play on:
- For compatibility with PC games and third-party console adapters, use XInput mode as the preferred mode.
- Use PS4 mode on PS4, and also use PS4 mode for PS4 games on a PS5 system.
- Use PS3 mode on PS3, and also use PS3 mode for PS4 games that support legacy controllers.
- Use Switch mode on Nintendo Switch.
- Use keyboard mode for MAME cabinets, PC rhythm games, and similar applications.
- Use the following button combinations to configure the lighting.
SELECT + START + X: next animation
SELECT + START + A: previous animation
SELECT + START + Y: increase brightness
SELECT + START + B: decrease brightness
SELECT + START + RB: increase LED parameter
SELECT + START + RT: decrease LED parameter
SELECT + START + LB: increase pressed parameter
SELECT + START + LT: decrease pressed parameter
- Download the app called "LED LAMP" from your mobile app store.
- Turn on the device, open the app, and use the wireless connection method.
(The app will automatically recognize your device.)
- The EXT. port is used for expansion functions.
- Do not connect to a game console through this port.
- For expansion functions
- Insert an official or third-party adapter or controller to enhance the product's platform compatibility and functionality.
- This is the built-in web-based configuration application. You can adjust shortcut settings, pin mapping for all buttons, the boot screen, and more to create a unique Arcade controller.
- Before connecting to the PC, hold down the "Start" button, then connect it.
(If the device has a screen, setting mode will be displayed).
Note: 192.168.7.1 is a local settings page that can only be opened when a TIKITAKA FTG product is connected to a PC by USB in setting mode. It is not a regular internet site or router management page.
- Next, access http://192.168.7.1 in a web browser to start configuration.
Do not click "Danger Zone" or "Get Latest". This does not help with use and may introduce bugs or make the product unusable!
You can manage and change your device settings directly in your PC browser (Chrome is recommended).
First, connect the device to your PC while holding down the button assigned to START.
After connecting, enter “192.168.7.1” in your browser’s address bar to access the device’s Web Config screen.

Current Input Mode: Allows you to switch which platform the device operates on. Select “Xinput” when using it on a PC.

D-pad Mode: Always set this to “D-pad.” If the movement keys do not respond, it is usually because this setting is not set to “D-pad.”
SOCD Cleaning Mode: Configures how inputs are handled when pressing left + right or up + down simultaneously. For Street Fighter 6, the default is “Neutral”, and in tournaments, using anything other than “Neutral” is prohibited. Please set it according to the rules of the game you are playing.

This page lets you configure which platform the device runs on depending on which button you hold down while connecting. If you mainly use the device on only one platform and don’t need to switch input modes, we recommend turning all shortcuts OFF to prevent unintended operations.
This page configures shortcuts that trigger when pressing certain button combinations while the device is connected. If you don’t plan to use shortcuts, set them all to “No Action” to avoid accidental operations.

This page allows you to reassign buttons. Click “GPIO PIN Viewer,” then press the button on your device that you want to change — the corresponding PIN number will be displayed. Edit the displayed number to reassign the input.
Finally, press “Save” to apply the settings. Don’t forget to save your changes.
